A new festival to showcase the work of local filmmakers is coming to West Tennessee this summer.

The first-ever Hub City Film Festival is scheduled to take place August 5th & 6th at the Ned R. McWherter West Tennessee Cultural Arts Center in downtown Jackson.

Organizers are currently seeking submissions from local filmmakers.

Film submissions can be entered on the festival’s page on FilmFreeway. Information about deadlines and fees is also available there.

Hub City Film Festival is a nonprofit event and relies on support from the community for both creative input and funding. The following levels of sponsorship are available:

• Studio Executive Producer (Gold) – $2,000

• Executive Producer (Silver) – $1,000

• Producer (Bronze) – $500

• Crew Members – Any donations under $500

• Craft Services – Any non-monetary donations such as food, etc.

• Sponsors for Awards – Sponsorships for specific awards
